June 29, 2017 Update

Beginning in early July and continuing until late fall, Oceanwide’s contractors will be installing drilled foundation piles along the Mission Street site 24 hours a day. The foundation piles go all the way into bedrock, and the process of drilling and pouring concrete must be done in a 24-hour cycle and requires working at night. We will do our best to limit neighborhood impacts throughout this entire process.

Partial demolition of building 78 will continue during the hours of 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additionally, streetlight upgrades will take place in this area during regular business.

Oceanwide has completed Ecker Street pedestrian safety improvements. Ecker Street between Jessie and Mission is now open to southbound traffic. Both cars and pedestrians will have access to this portion of Ecker Street for the duration of construction. For safety, pedestrians should use the newly installed sidewalks when walking down Ecker Street.

Beginning next week, Oceanwide or its’ contractors will be moving heavy equipment into the Mission Street site. This work will take place from 5:00 am – 8:00 pm.

On July 1 and July 3, drilling work will occur along Elim Alley, on the south side of 25 Jessie Street.  This work will take place between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

June 8, 2017 Update

On June 13 and 14, Ecker Street between Jessie and Mission Streets will be closed to install a vehicle safety barrier. This barrier will remain in place for the duration of construction. We will have flagging personnel at Anthony and Jessie Streets to assist with any delivery vehicles that need to access Jessie Street.

Demolition of buildings 40 and 50 1st Street is complete. Demolition work on the west side of 78 First Street will continue for the next several months.

Starting in Mid-June and continuing through November, drilled pile work will be performed 24 hours a day as we begin the installation of the deep foundations on the Mission Street site. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid this work as it requires that rebar and concrete be set immediately after shafts are drilled down to bedrock. We will do our best to limit impacts.
